Generations of Excellence in Catholic Education
Mrs. Yasmin Lidhar-Corrales currently lives in West Chester. She is married and has three boys. Her children have attended Saint Agnes School since 2014. She and her family love Saint Agnes School because it offers an excellent academic program in a faith-based learning environment.
Mrs. Lidhar-Corrales was born and raised in Mexico. She grew up in small beautiful town in Sinaloa near the beach in Mazatlan. As a child, she spoke only Spanish until she started attending school. Fortunately, the school she attended provided foreign language classes and she was able to learn basic English skills.
Her family relocated to the United States, to California, when she was in High School. Attending High School was challenging since her only English knowledge was from school in Mexico. She put all her efforts into her new adventure, learning to speak English fluently. In High School she worked arduously to do well in all her classes. She earned certificates such as Honor Roll and Top Notch Student and these accomplishments inspired her to believe in herself and certainly to have a mindset that hard work pays off. After graduating from High School, she immediately started college. She attended San Joaquin Delta College to take courses which were designed to improve advanced communication skills of students who speak English as a second language. Mrs. Lidhar-Corrales graduated from college and obtained her Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. Additionally, she earned her Child Development Associate Credential in Preschool. Lastly, she obtained a certificate by serving and completing the AmeriCorps Credentialing Teacher TRAC program.
Currently Mrs. Lidhar-Corrales works as a Teacher’s Aide for Kindergarten. In addition, she had the opportunity to start the Spanish program for the Early Childhood program in Kelly Hall at Saint Agnes School. In 2020-2021 school year, she is not only excited to continue teaching Spanish in the Early Childhood program but also students in grades 1st to 4th. Lastly, she enjoys community service. Currently, she is a board member for the Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County and a leader for Cub Scout Pack 153 of Saint Agnes.
