Generations of Excellence in Catholic Education
Mrs. Mary Frances Giunta has over 30 years of experience in teaching art and has taught at the primary, intermediate, and high school levels.
She is a graduate of Temple University, where she obtained a BS in Art Education. She has her MEQ + and many more credits in developing an art curriculum, art technique, and art history. She has been involved in a variety of collaborations and public art projects. For many years she had summer art camp at her home. She loves working with clay and mixed media collage and continues to develop her own art practice.
As a teacher, Mrs. Giunta has seen her role to expose children to all aspects of art. She believes that “Art is not some unattainable ability — it is in all of us — we just need to find ways to access it.” She loves encouraging children to find their own artistic voice while learning art processes, techniques, and art history. In the art room, she expects respect for art materials and each other. Students need to maintain self-control and a calm mental space for creative juices to flow.
Mrs.Giunta attended Sts. Simon and Jude Elementary School and Bishop Shanahan High School. She and her husband Don are members of St. Agnes Parish.
She has 3 children, Nicholas, who lives in Kensington with his wife Samantha; two sons Porter and Archie; Michael, who lives in South Norwalk with his wife Emily; and Theresa, who lives here in West Chester.
She feels very blessed to become a part of the St. Agnes School Community.
Mrs. Giunta loves to create her own art, cook, bake, and go to the beach in her free time.
