Grade 1 – Miss Shannon Brown
Shannon Brown is excited to begin her first year teaching at Saint Agnes School. Shannon graduated from DeSales University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in early childhood and elementary education and is certified to teach pre-K-4. Shannon has a strong leadership background and has taught character development through her various roles as a resident advisor, peer mentor and yearbook editor.
In the classroom, Shannon is passionate about utilizing creative instruction to inspire a love of learning that will last a lifetime. Shannon uses differentiated instruction in both reading and math to meet her students’ needs to make significant gains throughout the year. Shannon likes to create a challenging yet collaborative environment that encourages students to take risks throughout the learning process and to think creatively. Shannon also encourages students to be respectful and teaches the core character virtues to develop a student’s intellectual and moral character.
Last year, Shannon was blessed to have completed a mission trip to South Africa and volunteer her time to help out a catholic school in Cape Town. This experience allowed her to immerse herself into a new culture and grow stronger in the faith. During the summers, Shannon works with kindergartners and first graders at hideaway day camp to help give children the true camp experience. In her free time, Shannon is an artist and enjoys drawing, hiking and spending time with her family and friends.
Shannon is very excited to be a member of the Saint Agnes school community and is looking forward to a fantastic year.
