How do parents get involved?

Parents can be involved in the school in many ways. We invite parents to visit school to assist in the classroom, the cafeteria, or in school wide activities.

Each classroom has a homeroom parent to assist the teacher in preparing parties and special activities. Parents are asked to provide for the needs of the party. Sometimes help is needed at the party.

Parents can volunteer in the art room, library, the technology room, in the Home & School, on the School Advisory Council (SAC), and with fundraising and other social and volunteer events.
The Home & School Association will provide a Volunteer Survey for families to complete each year. Parents indicate where they can help and the coordinator will contact you as the event comes up.

All volunteers are required to have a complete set of clearances on file. Clearance requirements can be found on the Safe Environment page.

Do you have fundraising at the school?

Parents pay a $100 Home and School fundraising fee. You are eligible for a refund of this fee with regular SCRIP purchases totaling a minimum of $100 in rebates.

My child has an allergy? Is the school nut free?

No, Saint Agnes School is not peanut free. If your child has an allergy or any medical condition, you should make an appointment to meet with the school nurse and the classroom teacher to explain your child’s needs. In the cafeteria, there is a peanut-free table provided so your child can eat lunch safely. If other accommodations need to be made, they should be discussed with the classroom teacher. At times, we have designated a classroom to be peanut-free for snacks.
